$6.50 for 5 pieces of fresh amazing melt-in-your-mouth toro?! Oh wait, you actually gave me 6 pieces?! Holy mother of tuna, I would eat here every damn day if I could!
A cute little sushi dive with friendly service, like 5 tables, and wifi. Sashimi, rolls, rice bowls, udon... It's all good! The food comes well-prepared, fresh, and in huge portions, especially for the super reasonable prices! $5.99 for 19 pieces of assorted rolls - this makes quite the easy lunch. I'm not kidding, this beats my favorite sushi dive in LA, and now I'm just sad I can't come here every day. -

The spicy combo is too salty and the stuffing does not taste good. The spicy mayo totally fails, which I am very disappointed about.
Could have given 2 stars, but they kept me waiting for 25 mins and the waitress was not so nice so... -

Absolutely filthy dirty. Everything is covered in a layer if grease. Fruit fly traps at every table. Every person left half the food on the plates.
Literally calling the health board on them. -

Pretty below average sushi and service. Had my order taken, food dropped off, and no one came around again until I had to go up to the front to ask for my bill and a togo box. Went to pay my bill, and for whatever reason an autogratuity of %15 had been added without telling me.

New Chinese owners???
Clue #1: Plastic poinsettias on the counter. It's May!
Clue #2. The fruit on my combo box was a piece of banana! The avocado in the rolls were brown and oxidized, the chicken was overcooked, and the tempura was so so.
Clue #3: The half eaten plates of the other customers sitting outside.
I miss the original Shima Sushi :(.
I've been coming here for 20 years but I'm pretty sure this is the last (until a change in ownership again). I think I'll try Akira across Denman. Hope they didn't change owners.
